Identities of five youth corpers isolated After contact With COVID-19 patient in Delta revealed
The identities of the quarantined health staffs of the General Hospital, Otu-Jeremi where a female COVID-19 patient had tried treatment first.
Their identities were revealed after a working visit by Chairman of Ughelli South LGA, Hon.Dr.Richard Kofi (JP), in company of the Executive Secretary PHCDA, DSNO, LIO, RRT Members, DPO and LGSC Otu-Jeremi.
Five youth corp members and a sister to the pharmacist of the medical facility were announced to have had contact with the patient and are presently isolating and checking temperatures.
Today, 22nd April, 2020, the Ughelli South Local Government Area COVID-19 Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Team, led by the Executive Chairman of Ughelli South LGC, Hon.Dr.Rihard Kofi (JP), in company of the Executive Secretary PHCDA, DSNO, LIO, RRT Members, DPO and LGSC Otu-Jeremi, paid a working visit to the General Hospital Otu-Jeremi.
The visit was sequel to the report of a patient, who had tested positive to the deadly coronavirus and admitted at the General Hospital, Otu-Jeremi.
The index patient, Omamuzo Ijala, is a 36 years old female who resides at Bendel Estate along Ugborikoko Airport road, Effurun.
She had come to visit her male friend at Utuama in Udu LGA, when she became sick. She presented herself at the Otu-Jeremi General Hospital on the 16th of April, 2020 at about 5 pm with complaint of coughing, fever & anorexia of 2 days duration. She was afebrile with B.P 100/70mmhg, PR 96/m.
A further examination, disclosed a provisional test of PTb., Pneumonia, R/o COVID 19. She was thus referred for chest X-ray & sputum AFB. On presentation the next day, the Medical Officer with high index of suspecion referred her to Warri Central Hospital for further COVID-19 evaluation, which was detected positive.
The five health workers (all Youth Corps Members) who had mainly contacts with the patient included:

5. Pharm. Uwigbe Jerry(M)(28 yrs)- 08068914336 and
6. Uwigbe Esosa (F)(24 yrs)- Sister of the pharmacist.
The visiting team, met with them and instructed them on the need to regularly monitor their body temperature twice daily & communicate accordingly to the DSNO as well as the need to remain in isolation for 14 days. They were then given personal thermometer & other relevant kits.
The Team assured and explained to them on the need to comply with the period of isolation.
Then, the team went back to the General Hospital, Otu-Jeremi and presented PPEs to the management.
The patient and the primary contacts, are in good frame of mind.
Meanwhile, the Council Boss, has directed the environment department of the Local Government to access the hospital with the purpose getting it fumigated to deconterminate the facility as it were.
