See the African country that declares fully free from coronavirus

Mauritius has declared fully recovered from the coronavirus disease as of Monday, as the country marked the fifteenth consecutive day without recording a new case of the disease.
The East African country’s government stated that 322 people had recovered out of the 332 confirmed cases in the country. And 10 persons died from the deadly virus.
A lockdown, however, remains in place to curtail continuous spread of the virus.
Mauritius becomes the second African country to have declared virus-free status after the pandemic infection.
Mauritania weeks ago reported full recoveries of cases (6 recoveries and a death at the time), another infection was subsequently recorded.
According to National Communication Commitee’s statistics provided on Monday, May 4, Mauritius recorded no new cases of the deadly coronavirus pandemic for the past eight days.
Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth announced last Friday that the sanitary curfew put in place on March 20, and which should have ended on Monday had been extended until June 1.
“The population will need a little more patience, to avoid the risk of a second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic,” Jugnauth said.
Although, as from May 15 there will be a gradual resumption of certain activities, which will be added to essential sectors such as banks and supermarkets which are still operating.
Meanwhile, Lesotho is the south African country yet to record a case.
