Leo Messi Won A Record-Extending 8th Ballon d’Or

Argentina and Inter Miami Sensational footballer, Lionel Messi, has won a record-extending eighth Ballon d’Or ahead of Manchester City Erling Haaland and PSG Talisman, Kylian Mbappe who comes second and third, respectively.
Recall that Haaland had an impressive season registering 52 goals in the Man city treble winning.
Messi won the last 7 in 2009 and then in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2021.
Aged 36, the winner played a crucial role in Argentina’s World Cup glory in Qatar where they beat France in the final.
Haaland, who finished second in the voting was recognized by the Gerd Muller Trophy given to the best striker of the year.
Emiliano Martinez, won the Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper.
Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid was honored with Copa trophy and Socrates award, respectively.
