UCL: Bayern Munich Legend, Lothar Matthaus Urges Club To Sack Tuchel Ahead Of Arsenal Clash
Lothar Matthaus, a Bayern Munich legend, has called for the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel before their Champions League match against Arsenal on Tuesday.
This comes after the Bundesliga champions suffered a 3-2 defeat to newly-promoted Heidenheim on Saturday.
The loss puts Bayer Leverkusen in a position to possibly take Bayern’s title, as they just need one more victory to secure the championship.
Bayern’s hopes for winning a trophy rest on the Champions League, and they are set to play Arsenal in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
“There’s always something that can be saved, but I think the atmosphere is broken between Thomas Tuchel and the team.
“If you lead 2-0 in Heidenheim, then you can’t let the points be taken away – especially with a view to the next game in the Champions League.
“The chemistry is no longer right. I’m excited to see what happens at Bayern in the next 24 hours. I can even imagine that they could continue with an interim coach,” Matthaus told Sky
