BREAKING: Famous Nigerian Senator Is Dead
Senator Ayogu Eze, a former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Media and representative of Enugu North Senatorial Zone, has passed away at the age of 66.
He died on Thursday in an Abuja hospital after a brief illness.
During his eight-year tenure in the Senate (2007-2015), Eze played a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s 1999 constitution as a member of the Constitution Drafting and Amendment Committee.
He also chaired the Committee on Works after his reelection in 2011 and served on various other committees, including Police Affairs, National Planning, Marine Transport, and Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs.
Born on November 23, 1958, Senator Eze was first elected to the Senate in 2007, representing Enugu North Senatorial District of Enugu State, and took office on June 5, 2007.
