KOGI GUBER: Tribunal Affirms Ododo’s Victory, Dismisses Ajaka’s Petition
The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has reaffirmed Usman Ododo’s victory in the November 11, 2023, election, dismissing the petition filed by Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The tribunal, led by Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu, found that Ajaka failed to provide sufficient evidence to support his claims of electoral irregularities and non-compliance with the Electoral Act.
With 446,237 votes, Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner, followed by Ajaka with 259,052 votes and Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 46,362 votes.
The tribunal’s decision upholds the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and confirms Ododo’s Certificate of Return.
