BREAKING: Tinubu Submits Minimum Wage Bill To N’Assembly
President Bola Tinubu submitted the Minimum Wage Bill to the National Assembly for their review and approval on Tuesday.
In his letters to both the Senate and the House of Representatives, he urged prompt consideration of the bill which aimed to amend the National Minimum Wage Act of 2019 by increasing the minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000.
The proposed bill also sought to shorten the timeframe for revising the minimum wage from five years to three years.
Tinubu had previously discussed and reached an agreement on the ₦70,000 figure for the new minimum wage with Organized Labour in a recent meeting.
