Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has marked the 2025 International Workers’ Day by lauding the state’s workforce for their unwavering dedication amid political challenges. In a statement issued from Port Harcourt, Fubara described workers as “the backbone of the state’s progress and a beacon of hope.”

He emphasized this year’s Workers’ Day theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” as a call to action to protect workers from increasing environmental and socio-political risks.

Fubara praised the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, for its efforts to promote labour reforms and climate-sensitive policies that enhance workplace safety nationwide.
