Two Israeli Embassy Staff Fatally Shot in Washington; Trump Calls for End to Antisemitic Violence

In a tragic incident on Wednesday night, two staff members of the Israeli Embassy were fatally shot outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. US President Donald Trump condemned the killings on his Truth Social account, calling the act “horrible” and rooted in antisemitism.
“These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the United State,” Trump wrote. He extended his condolences to the victims’ families, lamenting the senseless violence.
The shooting took place near Third Street and F Street NW, an area near Georgetown University Law School and the FBI’s field office. Authorities apprehended a single suspect who reportedly chanted “Free Free Palestine” upon arrest, according to Police Chief Pamela Smith.
The victims were attending a gathering organized by the American Jewish Committee at the museum. The attack has prompted widespread outrage and calls for justice from both US and Israeli leaders, underscoring the urgent need to combat antisemitism.
