Delta Police Crack Down on Gun Running, Arrest Two

Authorities in Delta State have intensified efforts against illegal arms trafficking, arresting Ekene Chroma and Okafor Jonathan, both natives of Aniocha North LGA and residents of Okpanam. The CP Special Assignment Team conducted a sting operation in the Okpanam area of Asaba, leading to their capture.
SP Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer, revealed that two English single-barrel pistols and 110 live cartridges were confiscated from the suspects. He stated, “Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. The suspects and exhibits are presently in custody while the investigation is ongoing.”
In a separate action targeting cultist activities in Mosogar, ASP Julius Robinson and his team raided the residence of Koko Josh, recovering a fabricated Beretta pistol, two locally made guns, and ammunition. Additional items, including mobile phones, a laptop, and fetish substances, were also found.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Kelvin and Gift Amotsuka, suspected members of the Aiye Confraternity. All suspects are being held as investigations continue.
CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, the State Commissioner of Police, commended the public for their assistance and encouraged more residents to support police efforts for a safer Delta State. He listed the Command’s control room numbers for public use.
