Fire engulfs another popular market in Lagos

Fire engulfed sections of the popular Apongbon Market in Lagos on Sunday afternoon.
According to General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency- LASEMA, Dr Oke Osanyintolu, the cause of the fire is due to electricity upsurge. He added that LASEMA officials who came around were able to put off the fire.
“The fire started earlier till 10 in the morning today, we have been able to stop the fire, no life was lost but properties, (the containers) were damaged by the fire,” Osanyintolu said.
This is happening weeks after the Balogun market was also gutted by fire.
So far, there have been about five fire incidents in Lagos markets within last few weeks.
