Date NYSC batch B members will pass out revealed
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has approved and revealed date for the passing-out of Batch ‘B’ stream of the 2019 set of Corps members, amid fighting against coronavirus.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that this was contained in a statement dated Wednesday evening, 29 April, and signed by Steve Ehoda-Adi on behalf of the agency’s Director General.
The statement was read in part. It read: “I write to inform you that the Director-General has approved Thursday, 28th May, 2020 as the date for the Passing-Out of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ (Stream I) Corps Members.”
It however provided measures given the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the required protocol for social/physical distancing.
The agency stated that the state coordinators are to release official vehicles to convey the Certification officers with letters of introduction for inter-State or border crossings and to facilitate the collection of Certificates of National Service at the National headquarters.
This reliable online news platform understands that the statement also read that the state coordinators should also create good environment, preferably, open spaces for the distribution of Certificates of National Service to Corps members by creating at least ten (10) service points.
“The Distribution of Certificates of National Service be staggered for a period of ten (10) days, at the fist instance, in compliance with the approved protocol of social distancing, and continued thereafter depending on the number of the remaining Certificates.
“Each distribution point in the State should not have more than thirty (30) Corps Members, with a minimum of three (3) NYSC officials supervising the process,” the statement read.
“State Coordinators should engage officers SG 12 and above to monitor the distribution of Certificates officers are to ensure that social distancing strictly adhered to at the various Local Government press: Provision has been made in the Passing-Out budget for the logistics of the officers that will monitor the even the Local Government Areas,”
The agency, however, advised state coordinators to establish contact with Security Agencies at the Local Government level for observance of the one protocol in order to ensure a hitch-free exercise, taking a chance of the prevailing circumstances.
