BREAKING: Donald Trump recovers from coronavirus
According to Doctors’ report, Donald Trump could be discharged from hospital starting from Monday as his condition continues to improve.
The US president’s doctor, Dr Sean Conley, said Trump is “doing well” after he was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre on Friday following his coronavirus test, which came out positive.
Dr Conley said, “The president has continued to improve.”
A specialist in pulmonary critical care, Dr Brian Garibaldi said Trump received a second dose of remdesivir on Saturday, along with a dose of dexamethasone after a drop in oxygen levels, OnyxNews Nigeria reports.
Dr Garibaldi said Mr Trump was given dexamethasone in response to “transient low oxygen levels.”
“He received his first dose of that yesterday and our plan is to continue that for the time being,” he said.
But he said Mr Trump is “up and well” and doctors planned to have him “out of bed” on Sunday as much as possible.
Dr Garibaldi and Dr Conley said the president will be able to return to duties on Monday to finish his five-day course of remdesivir treatment if his condition continues to improve.
Speaking outside the hospital on Sunday, Dr Conley confirmed the president had a “high fever” and a blood oxygen level below 94 per cent on Friday.
Doctors give an update on the president’s condition outside the hospital on Sunday.
Dr Conley said the president’s oxygen level had also dropped to 93 per cent on Saturday, but he was not experiencing breathing difficulties.
His oxygen level currently stands at 98 per cent, the president’s medical team have confirmed.
Following his refusal to confirm whether Trump was given oxygen on Friday, Dr Conley said he was trying to “reflect the upbeat attitude” of the president and his medical team.
During the briefing on Sunday, Dr Conley was pressed on why his rosy picture of the president’s health was contradicted on Saturday by White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows.
“I was trying to reflect the upbeat attitude of the team, that the president, that his course of illness has had,” Dr Conley said on Sunday.
“I didn’t want to give any information that might steer the course of illness in another direction and in doing so, it came off that we were trying to hide something, which isn’t necessarily true.”
Mr Trump released a four-minute video on Saturday in which he said the “real test” of his condition will come over the next few days.
Not looking too relaxed this time, Trump said into the camera, “over the next period of a few days, I guess that’s the real test, so we’ll be seeing what happens over those next couple of days.”
No report has been heard from condition of his wife, Melania Trump.
