BREAKING: ASUU Finally Agrees To Call Off Strike
ASUU has finally agreed to call of strike.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has agreed to call of its nine-month strike which has grounded academic activities in the public universities.
This online news platform understands that ASUU leadership reached the consensus during the seventh meeting with the team of federal government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja on Friday, November 27.
The federal government also vowed to raise the total payment to ASUU to N70 billion.
OnyxNews Nigeria recalls that last week, the Federal Government accepted the demand by the ASUU that they will excluded from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
On Friday, the Union insisted that payment of outstanding salaries must not be done as through IPPIS platform as promised, if strike would be suspended.
