“Is Someone Else Leaving PDP Again?”– FFK Asked
2023 Election: “Is Someone Else Leaving PDP Again?”- FFK Asked.
Political calculation and preparations towards 2023 general election is gradually taking shape as different politicians are switching camp from one political party to another one.
Over the years we have always been witnessing the fact that Nigeria’s political space always have a situation whereby politicians move from one political party to another.
Decamping is usually done by the politicians in a bid to pitch their tent with most time the ruling party at the federal level so as to increase their chances of winning their opponent in the upcoming election in a state or at federal level.
However, the race for 2023 election is gradually making politicians move from one place to another especially between PDP and APC so as to cement their ground and win more supporters in the party.
Recently, the Governor of Ebonyi state, Engineer David Nweze Umahi who once served as the Deputy Governor under the platform of the PDP announced his resignation from the PDP and his defection to the present ruling party in Nigeria, APC.
PDP Chieftains like Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State among others have come out to reveal that the reason Umahi left was due to his selfish interest and ambition against 2023.
Umahi in his response came out to reveal why he left PDP because of some reasons which is linked to the reluctant nature of the PDP to zone the presidency to the South East.
To worsen the matter, Senator at the 9th Assembly representing Adamawa state, Elisha Abbo has also left the PDP to pick tent with the APC. Elisha Abbo revealed that internal issue in the PDP made him left the party for APC.
However, while all these issue of decamping has been a topic, Nyesom Wike of Rivers state made a statement after Umahi defected that he knows there are still few PDP members planning to decamp to the APC in days to come and this has been showing forth.
Earlier on Friday, the Governor Bello Matawalle of the PDP in Zamfara state has considered over leaving the party to another party. The reason for this according to Matallwale’s media aide is that the PDP is becoming hostile for its members by lamenting over his recent experience with his colleagues governors from the south south zone of the country.
Later on Friday, One of PDP Chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode, a lawyer, writer and a former Minister of Aviation has come out to make some revelations as regards the recent cases of decamping in the PDP.
FFK as he is fondly called just like Nyesom wike of Rivers state has through his twitter account revealed something which looks like he knows another bigwig is leaving PDP anytime soon.
FFK in his statement said “There are going to be many changes in the political landscape of this country in the next few weeks. Many realignments & new alliances will take place. Many will be shocked by what will happen. Those that have laboured will be rewarded. Those that have courage will thrive. Game on!”.
FFK as a top member in the PDP would definitely be speaking for his party and his statement somehow corroborates that of Nyesom Wike who said that he knows some PDP members will leave the party.
This statement of realignment and new alliances as mentioned by FFK is surely towards the 2023 election but he didn’t mention who is leaving the party anytime soon.
