Another UNILAG Professor Is Dead.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that a former Dean of Education at UNILAG, Prof. Duro Ajeyalemi is dead.
This sad news coming at the time the higher institution is still mourning the sudden death of its former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibidapo Obe, another professor died.
Duro Ajeyalemi, a former Dean of Education at UNILAG who at various times pioneer Dean of Students’ Affairs from October 2, 1995 to January 17, 2000 and the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) death was announced on Wednesday morning, January 6.
Inaugurated on April 3, 2014, JUPEB has the mandate to conduct and regulate entrance examinations into foundation programmes of various universities nationwide.
The late Ajeyalemi joined UNILAG as a Graduate Assistant in 1977 and rose through the ranks to become an Associate Professor in 1989. A Fulbright Research Fellowship, University of Lowa, USA (1990), he was a Visiting Scholar in Curriculum Studies, University of Zimbabwe, Harare, 1988-89.
However, details of prof Ajeyalemi’s death is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
