Watch Moment Lawmakers Fight Dirty In Plateau Over Impeachment Of Speaker (Video)
Plateau state lawmakers have reportedly fight for mace over the impeachment of the speaker, Hon. Abok Ayuba Nuhu on Thursday.
Onyxnewsng reported earlier that 16 out of the 24 lawmakers voted in favour of the impeachment.
The plot to remove the speaker began about a week ago, as the speaker and the state governor, Simon Lalong have been having a misunderstanding, Onyxnewsng gathered.
This online news platform also gathered that their fight started after an attack in Yelwan, Zegam, a community in Jos North, where several people were killed.
The speaker has since started criticising the governor openly.
However, earlier on Thursday, the house Assembly members converged at the chamber of the house to initiate the impeachment process of the speaker.
PDP members, who were loyal to the speaker took the mace to prevent the impeachment.
But the APC members, who were in the majority, impeachment dragged the mace and placed it in its position then continued with the process. The entire house of Assembly complex was surrounded by joint security operatives.
