BREAKING: Government Declares A Day Public Holiday
Government has declared a day public holiday.
Onyxnewsng reports that the Government of Bayelsa State led by Douye Diri has declared Tuesday, November 2, 2021, as a work-free day.
This is to enable workers in the public and private sectors to actively take part in the state’s Annual Thanksgiving service.
Diri announced the decision through a ‘Government Special Announcement’ issued on Monday in Yenagoa by the Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Ayibaina Duba.
He said the decision was backed by the state annual thanksgiving law.

The statement read, ”His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State has declared Tuesday, 2nd November 2021 as work-free day in line with the State Annual Thanksgiving Law to enable both public and private sector workers participate fully.

“The clergy, friends, and the good people of Bayelsa State are cordially invited to join hands with the state government to appreciate God Almighty for His unending mercies and abundant blessings for the land and people of the state.”
This year’s thanksgiving marks the 10th edition since the Bayelsa State Thanksgiving Day Law, 2012 was signed by former governor Seriake Dickson, now a Senator representing Bayelsa West in the National Assembly.
