Just In: Gov. Bala Mohammed Dumps Atiku, Support G-5 Governors
Executive Governor of Bauchi State,Bala Mohammed has abandoned the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar for the G5 Governors.
Bala Mohammed made this known by inviting them, the G-5 Governors to Bauchi State for the launching of his campaign for a second term.
This development is not unconnected to the existing political fracas playing out between Gov. Bala Mohammed and Atiku Abubakar.
The G5 governors are Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo.
Bala Mohammed, who has not yet publicly acknowledged being a part of the G-5 governors, reportedly accused Atiku and his supporters of trying to thwart his bid for reelection.
In a letter to the National chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the governor had accused Atiku of threatening to “punish” him for contesting against him during the party’s presidential primary in May.
He stated that “I may withdraw from the PCC and feel free to create new measures and strategies that would guarantee the election and re-election of all PDP candidates in Bauchi and myself” if the issues were not resolved.
