JUST IN: IGP Orders Redeployment Of DIGs, AIGs, Others
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba on Tuesday ordered the posting and redeployment of some Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, and Commissioners of Police to different departments, commands, and formations.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said, “DIG Danmallam Mohammed, has been redeployed to the Department of Finance and Administration while the following AIGs have been posted to take up the duties and responsibilities of the DIGs in charge of the following departments of the Force as indicated against their names as follows:
“Hafiz Inuwa was posted to Department of Training and Development, Aji Janga to Department of Research and Planning, Adeleke Bode to Department of Operations, Habu Ahmadu as Force Secretary, whil Shuaya’u Abdulyari assumes office as the AIG in charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja.”
At the same time, the following senior police officers have been posted to take up duties and responsibilities as AIGs in charge of zonal police commands as indicated against their names.
Matthew Akinyosola as AIG Police Mobile Force, Jonathan Towuru as AIG Zone 6 Calabar, Sylvester Alabi as AIG Zone 2 Lagos, Akande Kayode as AIG Zone 11 Osogbo, and Abimbola Shokoya as AIG Zone 17 Akure.
Adejobi noted that in line with the IG’s mandate and strategies to strengthen the operational structures of state commands, the police boss has equally ordered the provisional posting of Adebola Hamzat as CP Adamawa State, Frank Mba as CP Ogun State, Suleiman Yusuf as CP Taraba State, Idowu Owohunwa as CP Lagos State, and Faleye Olaleye as CP Ebonyi State pending the approval of the Police Service Commission.
He added that the posting was with immediate effect, adding that the IG charged the newly posted officers to hit the ground running to ensure the mission, vision, and policy statements of his administration are effectively complied with in the areas of crime-fighting, public cooperation, and safety.
The IG also called on the member of the public’s support and cooperation to enable the newly posted senior officers to perform optimally on their directive.
