BREAKING: Ooni Of Ife Palace Apartment On Fire (Video)
An apartment structure within the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Friday night burnt down by fire.
The incident was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by Comrade Moses Olafare, Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace.
Olafare disclosed that the inferno was quickly put out by the combined efforts of the Government Fire Service OAU Fire Service, and Palace Emergency Control Unit. It only affected the building that was located in a particular area of the palace grounds.
The statement reads: “A building apartment within the courtyard of the Palace Of The Ooni Of lfe was at about 11:30pm. yesterday engulfed in flames of fire incident triggered by power surge, which exploded through electrical appliances in the affected apartment.
“The inferno did not spread beyond the affected building located at a section of the palace premises as it was swiftly put off through the combined efforts of the Government Fire Service, OAU Fire Service & Palace Emergency Control Unit.
“No casualties, No injuries recorded, No cultural items lost, Thanks to the Almighty Olodumare.”
