Breaking: ASUU Joins Nationwide Strike
In a memorandum circulated to the zonal coordinators and chairpersons, ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities), represented by its President Emmanuel Osodeke, gave explicit instructions for its members to participate in the nationwide strike organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria.
ASUU expressed its decision to be part of the strike in order to safeguard the welfare of Nigerian workers and to advocate for the rights and position of the union’s leadership.
The body said, “As an affiliate of NLC, all members of our union are hereby directed to join this action of NLC to protect the interest of Nigerian workers and the leadership of the union.
“Zonal coordinators and branch chairpersons should immediately mobilise our members to participate in the action.”
