Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a woman from Missouri, was released from prison earlier than expected.

She was involved in a notorious case where she conspired to murder her mother, subjected her to physical abuse, and coerced her into feigning severe illnesses.

The case garnered significant attention from the media and even inspired a television show. Blanchard, who is now 32 years old, was granted parole and released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center.

She had been serving a 10-year sentence for second-degree murder related to her mother’s death in 2015.

Her former boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, was responsible for fatally stabbing her mother while Blanchard hid in the bathroom.

Godejohn received a life sentence without the possibility of parole in 2019.

The case shed light on the concept of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, with prosecutors alleging that Blanchard’s mother had this psychological disorder, whereby she fabricated or induced illness in her daughter for attention.

Blanchard has described troubling experiences, including her mother shaving her head and forcing her to use a feeding tube.

Prior to the crime, Blanchard lived a sheltered life, being homeschooled and unaware of her mother’s actions.

It was revealed that the mother-daughter duo received charitable donations, a specially-built wheelchair-accessible house, a trip to Disney World, and a meeting with Miranda Lambert through the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Blanchard said she regrets her mother’s death.

Nobody will ever hear me say I’m glad she’s dead or I’m proud of what I did. I regret it every single day,” she told People Magazine in an interview for an upcoming cover story.

“She didn’t deserve that,” Blanchard added. “She was a sick woman and unfortunately I wasn’t educated enough to see that. She deserved to be where I am, sitting in prison doing time for criminal behavior.
