Tinubu Appoints Kannywood Actor Ali Nuhu MD As Director Of Nigerian Film Corporation
President Bola Tinubu has named renowned Kannywood actor Ali Nuhu as the Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation.
This announcement was made by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale on Friday.
Ali Nuhu, a versatile figure in the entertainment industry, has a decade of experience in Nollywood and Kannywood.
He has appeared in blockbuster films such as “Banana Island Ghost,” “Diamonds in the Sky,” and “Shanty Town,” where he played the role of the Chief’s Lawyer.
In terms of education, Nuhu holds a degree in film production and cinematic arts from the University of California.
He has also participated in training programs at the Asian School of Media Studies in New Delhi and has been involved in film festivals like the Zuma Film Festival and Pyongyang International Film Festival.
With a significant impact on Kannywood through films like “Wasila,” “Mujadala,” and “Sangaja,” Ali Nuhu has become a veteran in the industry.
His success has led to numerous brand endorsements, making him the face of companies such as Globacom Nigeria, Royco, Pepsi, and others.
Born on March 15, 1974, in Kano, Ali Nuhu began his journey into acting during his undergraduate years at the University of Jos.
His dedication to the Hausa movie industry, known as Kannywood, started with the film “Abin Sirri Ne.”
Ali Nuhu’s appointment has received widespread praise.
Shehu Sani commended the decision, highlighting it as a departure from the tradition of political appointments and emphasizing the potential benefits of Nuhu’s experience for the nation.

President Tinubu’s move is seen as a commitment to placing competent professionals in key positions for the betterment of Nigeria.
