The prestigious FIFA The Best awards ceremony took place on Monday night in London, UK.
Lionel Messi secured his third FIFA The Best men’s award, surpassing competition from Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé.
Meanwhile, his former Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, was named Men’s Coach of the Year.
Additionally, Barcelona and Spain midfielder, Aitana Bonmatí, clinched The Best women’s award, adding to her Ballon d’Or Féminin title.
Key award winners included Guilherme Madruga of Botafogo-SP who received the Puskás Award, the Brazil senior men’s players who were honored with the FIFA Fair Play Award, and Hugo Miguel Iñiguez who claimed the FIFA Fan Award.
Furthermore, the Men’s World XI featured notable players such as Thibaut Courtois, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Rúben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Jude Bellingham, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Vinícius Júnior.
On the women’s side, Sarina Wiegman was recognized as Women’s Coach of the Year, while Mary Earps of Manchester United earned the Goalkeeper of the Year title.
The Women’s World XI included standout names such as Olga Carmona, Lucy Bronze, Alex Greenwood, Keira Walsh, Alessia Russo, Lauren James, Ella Toone, Aitana Bonmatí, Alex Morgan, and Sam Kerr.
