Eid-Maulud: FG Declares Monday Public Holiday
The Federal Government has announced Monday, September 16 as a public holiday in observance of Eid-Maulud, which celebrates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, in a statement released in Abuja.
The declaration was conveyed on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in both domestic and international communities.
Tunji-Ojo encouraged Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace qualities such as patience, sacrifice, and resilience.
In addition to congratulating the Muslim community on the occasion, the minister urged them to utilize this period to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous nation.
