Man Utd Announce Ruben Amorim As New Head Coach
Manchester United has officially announced Ruben Amorim as their new manager, confirming in a statement that Amorim will stay with Sporting Lisbon until November 11 before taking charge.
The 39-year-old’s managerial debut with the Red Devils will be an away Premier League match against Ipswich Town.
Amorim has signed a contract running until June 2027, with the possibility of an additional year.
United has paid an additional €1m (£840,000) to Sporting Lisbon on top of the €10m (£8.4m) exit clause to secure his early release from the 30-day notice period.
He will be taking over from Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed earlier in the week, with Ruud van Nistelrooy remaining on an interim basis until Amorim assumes his role.
United’s upcoming match is a league encounter at home against Chelsea this Sunday.
