Jide Kosoko Addresses Alleged Sexual Exploitation in Nollywood, Urges Actors to Uphold Integrity

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has spoken out against sexual exploitation within the Nigerian film industry, urging aspiring actors to maintain their dignity and self-respect.
Speaking during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko emphasized that no one should feel compelled to compromise their values to secure a movie role.
According to him, while some individuals may choose to take unethical paths to advance their careers, it is essential for others to remain firm in their principles and not sacrifice their integrity for the sake of fame.
He stated, “If I say I need you to come warm my bed before I can give you a particular movie role and you say you don’t want to, just go, they cannot force you to do that. But if you want that role by all meant.”
“I know some ladies that come into the industry with determination that by the time I sleep with this person and that person I will get my name.”
Kosoko’s remarks highlight ongoing concerns about exploitation within the entertainment and movie industry in Nigeria and to reinforce the importance of ethical standards for upcoming actors.
