The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has strongly condemned the recent violent attacks in Plateau State, describing them as a grave assault on human dignity and national unity.

In a statement issued on Sunday, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, expressed deep sorrow over the April 4 assaults in Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas, which reportedly claimed numerous lives and left many injured.

“These senseless killings are a threat to our nation’s fragile peace,” Okoh stated, urging security agencies to promptly identify and prosecute those behind the violence.

He further called on all levels of government to enhance the protection of vulnerable communities and take proactive steps to prevent further bloodshed.

As Christians across the country mark Holy Week, CAN extended heartfelt prayers to the victims and their families, calling for healing, comfort, and lasting peace.
