JUST IN: Tinubu Lands n Abuja After Two Weeks Visits To Japan, Brazil
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, the nation’s capital, after nearly two weeks of diplomatic engagements in Japan and Brazil.
According to a statement issued by his Senior Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at exactly 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. He was received by senior government officials.
Tinubu had earlier departed Abuja for Japan to participate in the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), before proceeding to Brazil to strengthen bilateral relations.
During his stay in Brazil, Nigeria and Brazil signed about five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in key sectors such as energy, agriculture, and security.
Onanuga noted that Tinubu’s jet departed Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday.
Present at the airport to see him off were Brazil’s Secretary for Africa and the Middle East, Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte, the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria, Carlos José Areias Moreno Garcete, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, alongside other top officials.
