2026 W’CUP: FIFA Releases Trionda, The Official Ball For The Tournament

FIFA has introduced the official match ball for the 2026 World Cup, blending advanced technology with design elements that pay tribute to the three host nations — the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Named Trionda, the ball was once again crafted by German sportswear giant Adidas, which has produced every official World Cup ball since 1970.

I am delighted and proud to present the Trionda,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino as the ball was revealed at an event in New York on Thursday.

As the first World Cup to be jointly hosted by three countries and expanded to 48 teams, the event inspired both the name and design of the ball.

Its red, blue, and green accents reflect the hosts, while national symbols Canada’s maple leaf, Mexico’s eagle, and the U.S. stars — are integrated. A central triangle represents the unity of the three nations.

Beyond its symbolic design, Trionda incorporates technological upgrades such as deeper seams for improved flight stability, embossed textures to enhance grip in wet conditions, and a built-in motion sensor chip that transmits ball-tracking data directly to the VAR system.

The unveiling is a milestone in the lead-up to the North American World Cup, scheduled for June 11 to July 19, 2026.
