BREAKING: Emir of Rano in Kano is dead

The Emir of Rano in Kano State, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila Auta Bawo is dead.
The monarch died on Saturday at a hospital in Kano.
Turakin Rano and House of Representatives member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, Alhaji Kabir Alhassan Rururm, who confirmed the death of the traditional ruler, said the demised emir would be buried this evening in the emirate.
Onyxnews Nigeria had reported earlier on Saturday that Tafida Abubakar Ila Auta Bawo was rushed to a hospital over an unrevealed ailment.
This reliable online news quoted Daily Trust that with the rise in the deadly coronavirus cases in the state, the Emir was taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) in a critical state on Friday, May 1 and was later referred to the Nassarawa Specialist Hospital for further medical treatment.
A traditional title holder in Rano emirate who pleaded anonymity told the publication that the Emir of Rano was first rushed to AKTH, but was referred to Nassarawa hospital due to lack of oxygen.
He said; “The vehicle conveying the emir to Nassarawa hospital just left the premises of AKTH, the condition of the emir was critical at the time they departed AKTH.
“The emir is in critical condition and from the look of things, the situation is alarming, may Allah protect us all.”
Although before death, the Emir’s ill-health status has not been linked to the dreaded coronavirus.
