How Goodluck Jonathan rated Buhari’s govt in handling deadly coronavirus in Nigeria

Former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has expressed his opinion on how Buhari-led government is handling the pandemic virus in Nigeria.
He cautioned against the possibility of coronavirus pandemic breeding dictators in Africa as scourge exceeds five-million threshold worldwide.
The immediate past president issued this important information on Friday, May 22, while participating in a webinar organised by the Kofi Annan Foundation.
Speaking on the handling of the deadly COVID -19 especially in Nigeria, the former president said: “In Nigeria, I have seen one thing about the management of the COVID-19 which is also positive. We’ve seen the role played by the state governments, and some of the state governments are even looking post-COVID-19 era the economy of their people.”
Jonathan also told African leaders to be careful of the way they handle the pandemic which has ushered the world into unrest, adding that “all continental bodies must come up with their own minimum standards.”
“This is the time that many continental bodies must come up with their own minimum standards for any country going into election to operate.
“Otherwise people who ordinarily would have loved to be dictators will now exploit the problem of the COVID-19 pandemic and do what is not in line with the laws of the land,” Goodluck Jonathan explained.
Jonathan went ahead to commend President Muhammadu Buhari and the state governors in their quick responses in the battle against the raging pandemic.
He also commended all levels of government’s role in curbing the pandemic disease.
