COVID-19: FG issues fresh warning to workers

The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has warned federal civil servants to strictly adhere to guidelines enforced to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
This was contained in a notice signed by the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.
Yemi-Esan reminded the workers of two previous letters issued in March and April 2020, on the measures to guide against further spread of the pandemic.
However, in the circular, she stated that “the flow of both the staff and visitors to offices is very high which, sadly, indicates that the directives in the circulars in reference were being observed breach.
“It has, therefore, become very important to reiterate that only officers on GL14 and above; and officers performing essential services, are to report for duty. As much as possible, other categories of officers should be encouraged to work from home,” Yemi-Esan said.
Yemi-Esan also warned Permanent Secretaries/Chief Executive Officers to reduce the number of physical meetings in the MDAs.
Meanwhile, so far in Nigeria, 544 new cases of the deadly disease was recorded on Sunday night, making it total number of the virus now 28,711 with 11,665 discharged cases and 645 deaths.
