Buhari To Decide Fate Of Ministers Who Withdrew From Seeking Elective Offices
President Muhammadu Buhari will decide the fate of ministers who registered interest in elective posts but then withdrew, according to Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed.
The minister told journalists following the federal executive council (FEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, May 18, that the President has the last say on who goes, who returns, and who does not.
“As for the other question about ministers returning or not returning, I believe you should give me more time so that I can give you an accurate picture of the situation.”
“Right now, I’m doing some double-checking.” I need to confirm the situation with Mr. President once again. Mr. President makes the final choice on who goes, who returns, and who does not return.”
Recall that some political appointees with political ambitions after president Buhari’s meeting with the ministers withdrew their political ambition.
These political appointees include; Godwin Emiefele, CBN Governor, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, Gbenga Olawepo-Kashim, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, Attorney general of the Federation and others.
