Nigeria, US Strengthen Military Ties To Tackle Terrorism
Muhammed Bello, the Minister of State for Defence, recently announced that Nigeria is planning to strengthen its military relationship with the United States.
This step aims to bolster the fight against terrorism and other crimes in Nigeria.
The agreement was reached during Bello’s visit to US Congresswoman Betty McCollum at the Capitol in Washington, as stated by Henshaw Ogubike, the minister’s Director of Press and Public Relations.
The minister emphasized the importance of the existing bilateral ties between Nigeria and the US.
He reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to eliminating terrorism through collaborative efforts.
Betty McCollum, as the leader of the United States House Committee on Appropriation for Defence, expressed the commitment of the United States to supporting Nigeria in combating terrorism and other security threats.
This support would involve sharing intelligence, providing training, and assisting in military hardware production.
