Tragedy struck on Wednesday evening when South African rapper Malome Vector, born Bokang Moleli, lost his life in a devastating car accident in the Free State.
The incident occurred while Vector was traveling with fellow musicians Lizwi Wokuqala and Puleng Phoofolo, with whom he was collaborating on a music project.
Ambitiouz Entertainment, his former record label, confirmed the news on Wednesday evening.
“With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of a shining beacon; the Lion of Lesotho’s sun has set. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones and industry peers during this time of profound loss,” the label stated.
According to the Free State Department of Health, three fatalities were reported at the scene of the crash on the N1 near Kroonstad, while two survivors, a man and a woman, were rushed to Boitumelo Regional Hospital with injuries.
Sources close to the matter revealed that Vector was en route to Lesotho, his home country, to film a music video when the accident occurred at approximately 13:00.
