JUST IN: FG declares December 25, 26, Jan 1 Public Holidays
The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, as public holidays.
These dates are set aside to commemorate the celebrations of Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year, respectively.
This announcement was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, through a statement that was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
In his message, the Minister urged Nigerians to take this festive season as an opportunity to reflect on the core values of love, peace, and unity that are symbolized during this time.
He highlighted the significance of the season as a moment to cultivate harmony and reinforce familial and community connections.
According to the statement: “The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal.
“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences.”
