Tinubu’s Fuel Subsidy Policy Applauded by Otti

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has publicly commended President Bola Tinubu for his decisive action in removing the fuel subsidy, a move Otti described as both bold and necessary for Nigeria’s economic stability. The endorsement came during a meeting with Senators Orji Uzor Kalu and Chris Adighije at Otti’s residence.

Otti, whose friendship with Tinubu predates their current offices, reiterated his support for the president’s economic agenda. “We have behaved in an irresponsible manner for a very long time. And, when you have years of irresponsible behaviour, the correction would be tough, difficult, and painful,” Otti remarked.

He also addressed the futility of speculating about future elections, advocating instead for a focus on present governance. Otti detailed his administration’s achievements, including major road projects that have spurred economic activity in Aba, leading to significant private sector donations.

Senator Kalu expressed admiration for Otti’s leadership and infrastructure initiatives, stating, “You have done well for our state.” He encouraged Otti to continue supporting Tinubu’s administration, a sentiment echoed by Senator Adighije, who called for unity in pursuit of Abia’s progress.
