JUST IN: Man City, Premier League Resolve Dispute Over APT Rules
Manchester City and the Premier League have reached a resolution in their dispute over rules regulating associated party transactions (APTs).
The club has now acknowledged that the existing APT rules are “valid and binding.”
Earlier in February, City had challenged amendments introduced to these regulations.
The rules are designed to ensure fair market value in commercial agreements, particularly those involving organisations linked to club owners, and to prevent the artificial inflation of such deals.
In a joint announcement on Monday, both City and the Premier League confirmed that they had “agreed to terminate the proceedings.”
Meanwhile, in a separate legal matter, City still face over 100 charges of alleged financial rule breaches brought by the Premier League.
