COVID-19: President Buhari’s daughter reunites with family after 2 weeks in isolation
One of the daughters of Nigeria’s president, Mohammadu Buhari has been on isolation after spending 14 days to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
President Buhari’s daughter, who returned from UK went into isolation immediately following the guidelines laid down by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
This was disclosed by Nigerian first lady, Aisha Buhari on Thursdays on her verified Twitter handle.
Aisha said it was a thing of joy and gratitude to God to reunite with her daughter after she went into isolation 14 days ago.
She tweeted: “It is a thing of joy and gratitude to God to reunite with my daughter after she has been in isolation for 14 days immediately she landed Nigeria.
“While I’m wishing all those infected for a speedy recovery, I pray for the end of this pandemic,” Aisha Buhari said in the tweet.
The first lady of Nigeria had disclosed on 19 March that her daughter had gone into self-isolation after arriving from the United Kingdom due to deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
She said her daughter returned from the UK being among the burden countries of coronavirus and was placed on quarantined even though she did not develop any symptoms of the virus.
Her words: “Good afternoon Nigerians, earlier today my daughter returned fro the UK being among the high burden listed countries of COVID-19.
“Based on the advice of the Hon minister of Health, Presidential Task force on COVID-19 and that of NCDC, she is on Self-isolation, not because she displayed any symptoms of the COVID-19.”
In another development, the COVID-19 pandemic has been increasing in Nigeria as Osun state recorded six new cases on Wednesday, making it 20 cases of the raging pandemic, and other ten cases.
Onyxnews Nigeria reported that the ten cases were seven from Lagos and three from Abuja, the Nation’s capital.
