President Buhari makes fresh appointments amidst COVID-19 outbreak

President Muhammadu Buhari has made a fresh appointment amidst the spread out coronavirus.
President Buhari confirmed the appointment of Medical Directors for Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar, Cross River state, and Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, Taraba state.
This was made known by the presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, on Thursday, 2 April. He revealed that the new MDs, are Dr. Bassey Eyo Edet and Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu.
Dr. Edet who is from Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State, graduated from University of Calabar in 1998.
He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Psychiatry, and Fellow of the National Institute of Management Consultants.
Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu is a Consultant Physician Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist. Who hails from Karin-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, and she graduated from the University of Maiduguri in 1995.
Dr Adamu completed her Residency in 2008, and received Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College.
In a related development, the conditional cash transfer to the most indigent and vulnerable across the country by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development entered its second day on Thursday with a simultaneous rollout in Anambra, Katsina and Nasarawa states.
The payment rollout on Thursday came on the heels of the previous day’s exercise in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory where 5,000 registered beneficiaries were paid.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq had earlier approved the cash transfers to beneficiaries across the country.
The humanitarian ministry said in a statement issued in Abuja that the CCT payments to the poorest and most vulnerable households took place on Thursday in Anambra State at Anyamelum Local Government Area, wards Anaku 1 and 2; Omor 1 and 2; Umerum Umumbo; Igbakwu; Ifite Ogwari 1 and 2; Umueje and Omasi.
It stated that similar payments to more beneficiaries of the programme were carried out in three centres, which include: Wamba East, Wayo and Nakere, all in Nasarawa State.
