Ronaldo proves his world champion title as Juventus defeats Torin
Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, on Saturday evening proved his world champion after scoring a free-kick in his side’s Serie A 4-1 victory against Torino.
Ronaldo who used a free-kick to slide a ball into the Torino’s net as Juventus defeated the club at the Allianz Stadium.
According to ESPN, Ronaldo’s goal against Torino means the the Portuguese player is now the first player to score 25 plus league goals in Serie A, La Liga and Premier League.
Also Andrea Belotti did score for Torino as Maurizio Sarri’s men took all three points against the visitors.
Ronaldo, when talking about the match, he described Juventus defeating Torino as a “big win”, he said this via his official Twitter page.
He tweeted: “Big win! We need this spirit … UNTIL THE END.”
Juventus are on top of the Serie A log with 75 points from 30 matches. Sarri’s side will take on AC Milan in their next fixture on Tuesday.
In another development, Arsenal’s Brazil Under-23 striker, Gabriel Martinelli, had signed a new long-term contract at the Premier League club.
This comes few days after a fellow teenager, Bukayo Saka, 18, also agreed a new long-term deal with the Gunners.
The 19 year old Martinelli, who signed his new contract exactly a year after joining Arsenal, has scored 10 goals in 26 games for the club since moving from Brazilian side Ituano last year.
He has been sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in training which required surgery.
“I am very happy that Gabi has signed a new contract with us.
“He is a very talented young player and he has impressed us with his performances, attitude and work-rate.”
