How Buhari Govt Reacted To ASUU Strike Extension
Onyxnewsng reports that the Federal Government has reacted to the extension of the continuous strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
ASUU on Monday extended the strike by eight weeks, saying it took the decision in light of the fact that the Federal Government failed to address the issues it brought up in a 2020 FGN/ASUU agreement.
However, in opposition to ASUU claims, the Minister of State for Education, Mr Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba guaranteed the government satisfied every one of the needs of the association.
In a meeting with newsmen toward the end of the remembrance of the 2022 Commonwealth Celebration in Abuja, Nwajiuba said every single acquired stipend, as well as the revitalisation reserves requested, had been released.
“ASUU announced and we met and everything that they have demanded, we have done all of them including the earned allowances and the revitalisation fund; they choose to extend it for two months maybe,” he said.
