EPL: Ex-Chelsea Player Tipped Club To Sign Nigeria Attacker
Chelsea legend Pat Nevin believes that the club should sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli to solve their striker problems.
Recall that Osimhen was a key player for Napoli in the last Serie A season, helping the team to win the league title.
Following His crucial performance in helping Napoli secure their first title in over 30 years, Nevin, who played for the Blues from 1983 to 1988, believes that Osimhen’s skill and experience would be a valuable addition to the team.
Nevin also suggested that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly should consider selling winger Mykhailo Mudryk to help finance a move for Osimhen.
“Chelsea have bought some of the best strikers in history over the last decade or two, and it often has not worked,” Nevin told BestGamblingSites.
“Strikers are always top-dollar, and Chelsea have already spent a fortune on players who were not always worth the fee. They will have to spend even more to get a top-quality striker in.
“I thought Victor Osimhen was the man a few years ago, and I still think he is. I’d imagine he’s the one Chelsea will go for.”
He added: “A lot of teams would be interested in Mudryk! I’m not saying Chelsea should get rid of him, but Chelsea will have to sell someone if they want to get a striker as good as Osimhen in the door.”
