LaLiga: Barcelona Won Title Following 2-0 Win Over Espanyol
Barcelona were officially crowned LaLiga champions on Thursday night following a 2-0 victory over city rivals Espanyol.
Lamine Yamal once again proved instrumental for the Catalan side as they secured their 28th league title.
The teenager broke the deadlock in the second half with a stunning strike past Joan Garcia, before setting up Fermin Lopez to double the lead late in the game.
With this win, Barcelona have moved seven points clear of Real Madrid with only two games remaining, making it mathematically impossible for their rivals to catch up.
Hansi Flick’s team has now completed an impressive domestic treble, marking their second league triumph in six years.
Barcelona nearly clinched the title a day earlier, but a dramatic 95th-minute winner from Real Madrid against Mallorca postponed the celebration.
