‘Over 60 people killed’ as Boko Haram storm, set Borno village ablaze

The high level of insecurity has been a source of concern to Nigeria government which has made many unsuccessful efforts to address the situation.
Over 60 people were reportedly killed after Boko Haram invaded Faduma Koloram village in Gubio local government area, Borno state on Tuesday 9 June 2020.
Onyxnews Nigeria quoted theCables saying the terrorists, stormed the village in gun trucks and motorcycles, they also carted away many cattle.
A security source told the news platform that they struck in the on Tuesday afternoon.
“They got into the village around 12:15pm and the first place they attacked was Zowo ward at Faduma Koloram.
“They accused the people there of spying on them and vowed to teach them lessons. Virtually all the houses in the community were touched,” the source said.
The source also said when some people who managed to escape returned to the village hours later, they met their houses destroyed.
The attack on Faduma Koloram was the second known attack on a community within Borno in 24 hours.
The sect had earlier hit people living in Malam Karamti village and Daban Shatta, still in Borno.
According to the source, people were killed while houses were also damaged in the attacks.
Colonel Sagir Musa, spokesman of the Armed Forces Radio, was unavailable for comments as of the time this report was filed, as his telephone line was unavailable.
The banditry in the north-west has made it more difficult for the military to tame Boko Haram as troops have been involved in both battles.
