BREAKING: Nigerian Doctors suspend strike
The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have suspended their strike action.
The indefinite strike commenced on June 15.
The doctors noted the provision of personal protective equipment (PPEs) in some hospitals.
They also acknowledged that the Medical Residency Training funding had been included in the revised 2020 budget through the intervention of Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and will be implemented as soon as the budget is assented to the President.
The association however gave the Federal Government four weeks to fulfill its promises.
Meanwhile, this comes few days after Federal Government of Nigeria has released billions of naira allowances for the doctors.
Onyxnews Nigeria reported that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, on Friday, revealed that the Government has released the sum of N4.5bn to 31 Federal Teaching Hospitals and Medical Centres nationwide.
