Video: Donald Trump Makes Farewell Address As He Leaves White House

Donald Trump has made his farewell address before leaving the white house.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that US President Donald Trump has promised that his political movement is only just beginning in a farewell video message released on his final day in the White House.
In the 20-minute speech Trump described himself as the “only true outsider ever to win the presidency” and said that his administration had achieved more than anyone had thought possible in four years.

Trump did not concede he had lost the election or mention President-elect Joe Biden’s name, but wished the incoming administration luck.
“This week we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous,” Trump said. “We extend our best wishes and we also want them to have luck – a very important word.”
Ahead of Biden’s inauguration, Trump said he was leaving the White House after four years with a “loyal and joyful heart”.
“We did what we came here to do and so much more,” he said.
“I did not seek the path that would get the least criticism.

“I took on the tough battles, the hardest fights, the most difficult choices because that’s what you elected me to do. Your needs were my first and last unyielding focus.
“I fought for you, I fought for your family, I fought for our country.”
Trump said that although he was handing over to a new administration: “I want you to know that the movement we started is only just beginning. There’s never been anything like it.
“Americans should take tremendous satisfaction in all that we have achieved together. It’s incredible.”
Trump said his proudest achievements included cutting taxes, reducing business regulations, creating “the most secure border in US history” and expanding oil and gas production.
He said he was also proud to have overseen the assassinations of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and Islamic State terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
“Our agenda wasn’t about right or left, it wasn’t about Republican or Democrat but about the good of the nation,” Trump said.
“We rebuilt the American manufacturing base, opened thousands of new factories and brought back the beautiful phrase: Made in the USA.”
Trump added: “I am especially proud to be the first president in decades who has started no new wars.”
Earlier in the day Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell accused Trump of provoking the deadly riot at the US Capitol weeks ago.
In his farewell speech Trump condemned the riot, saying that “political violence is an attack on everything we cherish as Americans”.
“Now more than ever we must unify around our shared values and rise above the partisan rancour and forge our common destiny,” he said.
Trump, who was banned from Twitter after the assault on the Capitol, said the US should not submit to “political censorship and blacklisting”.
“Shutting down free and open debate violates our core values and most enduring traditions,” he said.
“America is not a timid nation of tame souls who need to be sheltered and protected from those with whom we disagree.”
